Pregnancy tests, which detect hormones generated by the newly formed placenta. These tests can detect pregnancy after implantation, which is 6-12 days after fertilization.

Types

Blood tests are more sensitive than urine tests. Home tests are urine tests, normally detecting a pregnancy 12-15 days after fertilization. Blood tests can determine the approximate date of conception.

  • EPF (early pregnancy factor), which gives the quickest result after fertilization, which can be detected within 48 hours of fertilization. However, it is expensive and time consuming
